about
This is the first time Joe has done an all rap track for Project Tu, which I think is awesome. I love the atmosphere for this song and Joe's passion behind it.

lyrics
Free trade’s a joke, and I get the punch line
Let’s spread the wealth around, well, you get to take mine
Oh and by the way, now that we’re all connected
You’ll be taking my dignity too, as expected
Where I’m from there’s no shirt, shoes, or service
No food on the table, no room I can furnish
No water in the faucet, no heat in the furnace
No money in my pocket, and no way to earn it
Now look me in the eye and tell me you deserve it
Living in your world with your plans and your purpose
Visiting your girl on your days off from workin
Tipping 15, clipping coupons for purchase
Do you have any idea what the poor people go thru?
I don’t think you do so here’s a clue now you better stay tuned
Because it’s easy to turn the other cheek when you pass me
But I’m begging for change now I’m the pain in the ass see:
That latte you carry could feed my entire family
That car that you drive is worth more than my life
That house for your children could rebuild my village
Yes you’ve got it made but I’m a slave of free trade
Free Trades’ a joke, and I get the punch line
Let’s spread the wealth around, as in you get to take mine
Oh and by the way, now that we’re all connected
You’ll be taking my family too, as expected
If free trade was a person, he’d be a pimp
With the cane and the cup and the robe and the limp
He’d ask for my daughter, son, wife, he’d explain
That My families worth more than my labor or brain
Daughter a whore, son in drugs, wife a maid
Lover of your foreign thugs, life betrayed
Nights filled with sin, now look what you've done to me
Yes I’ll sacrifice my kin if you support my economy
Yeah as long as my country’s clean, safe and cheap
You’ll give us some money, and we’ll get to eat
Yeah the rich folk can visit our hotels, wives and daughters,
And fair trade it all for my family's future
Free trade’s a joke, and I get the punch line
Let’s spread the wealth around, well, you get to take mine
Oh and by the way, now that we’re all connected
You’ll be taking my dignity too, as expected
