As the title suggests, this is what inspired the emotion behind the whole EP. It is a very personal track for the three of us who worked on the lyrics- which is interesting since the singing was done by Joe and Lanna instead of Emma and Trevor. Even so, I think this track came out really well and I think it conveys how much making music can affect someone (especially the writers).
-Ben
lyrics
He's so good at playing the victim
While a better man takes all the blame
I'm bored to tears that I can't shed, everyday when I make this filthy bed
It's easy for you to judge so far away from the neglect and shame
If it's because you don't actually care
That's what's devastating
Human beings are so self-absorbed
And not worth the sweat of cultivating
That's the whole basis of me changing
There's a weakness there that endears him
But he didn't need/ to take care of you
You are content with the man, but everything we were was a sham
I don't regret what I've done but we're owed a moment to be true
You have fueled all the wrong reasons
the conflict is not wanting to swallow my pride
and say i'm happy for you
