This is actually the original demo I made with my old group "Transient Society" before Joe and I started working together. We later recorded an acoustic version of this song for our "March" EP, but I ultimately like the rock version of it. When we re-record it, though, it'll probably have Joe's vocals instead of Trevor's.
lyrics
Can you imagine
The people living in the shade of sin?
Where only the insane
Get what they wanna see
I'm jealous their blessed
But the best part is I guess I'm a guest
The rest of the fold is
Just what they're told to be
You passed by Jesus
Last year as we picked up the broken pieces
Saw that cross in the sky
And I thought you'd died
I wasn't so wrong
It wasn't long til you were too far gone
I know you are through with
The spark you've since denied
Well my heart beats - beats for better days
My head ache - aches for better days
And you should know now
You kept this place alive and I go now
To find somewhere else that
I can go crazy in
Don't these words still sting?
Or will you fill your days with a gold ring?
Married to the mute of
A million violins
Well my heart beats - beats for better days
Your head shakes - shakes away the days
My heartbeat - beats for better days
My heartache - aches for better days
